CM&E in the News and Activities with Allied Organizations

October 7, 2010 - The CM&E special event "The Anatomy of a Deal" broke the luncheon attendance records of the last seven years. Articles written about this event in Chemical Week and ICIS Chemical Business. The moderators were Neil Burns and Christopher D. Cerimele, Director and Head of Chemicals at Houlihan Lokey. The panelists included Jeff Kolke, Senior Vice President at GE Capital, Bill Rowland, Partner of Jones Day, Drew Shea, Managing Partner at GenNx360 Capital Partners, and Ray Newhouse, CFO at LANXESS North America. .

March 3, 2011 - The "Making Green with Green Chemistry" CM&E luncheon/webcast was a resounding success. Three articles written about this event in ICIS Chemical Business. The panel included perspectives from Bill Barclay, Chief Technical Officer and co-founder of Market Biosciences, a pioneering green firm recently acquired by DSM, Jason Anderson from Novomer, a technology firm that is developing novel ways of carbon sequestration; and Chris Cerimele, Director and Head of the Chemicals Practice at Houlihan Lokey. The event was organized and moderated by Neil Burns of the investment firm Neil A. Burns LLC and Doris De Guzman, 'Green Chemistry' Senior Editor, ICIS.

May 20, 2011 - The Brazilian Times published an article based on the May 5 CM&E event "Investing in Latin America" highlighting the impact of this emerging market with insights from Ted Helms, Executive Manager of Investor Relations, Petrobras, the largest company in Latin America in market value and third largest public energy company in the world, and Daniel Gamba, Managing Director & Regional Head, Latin America and Iberia, at BlackRock, an investment firm that manages $3.7 Trillion in assets. The moderator was George Rodriguez, Managing Director at Argeni.

June 21-23, 2011 - CM&E was Media Sponsor to the 15th Annual Green Chemistry & Engineering Conference / 5th International Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry. The event, organized by the American Chemical Society's Green Chemistry Institute, was held in Washington DC. The US Environmental Protection Agency presented winners of this year's Presidential Green Chemistry Challenge Award during the conference. 

June 22, 2011 - CM&E organized the business session at the Green Chemistry Conference in which three speakers were Neil Burns, Principal at Neil A. Burns LLC and CM&E Director; James Weatherall, Principal at Weatherall Group and CM&E Program Chair; and George Rodriguez, Director at Argeni, CM&E Chair and Board Member of ACS NY Section.

On November 21, 2011, Chemical & Engineering News published an article about the remarkable tenfold growth and 70 acquisitions of the leading Mexican company Mexichem in the last 8 years based on the presentation made by Mexichem's Chairman Juan Pablo del Valle Perochena at the November 3 CM&E event “Latin America’s Bet on innovation.“ In a separate article in the same issue, C&EN also covered the activities of Braskem as presented in APLA in Buenos Aires which was to a large degree discussed in the CM&E event in New York a few days earlier by Dr. Ruben Migone, Manager at the Innovation & Technology Center of Braskem in Pittsburg. The event was moderated by George Rodriguez, Managing Director at Argeni, and Chair of CM&E.
